The Jean Capart Fund is passing the baton to the Association Egyptologique Reine Elisabeth (AERE-EGKE) and is handing over a tool, its website, to showcase all those who contribute to the development of Belgian Egyptology.
The objectives of the Jean Capart Fund have been achieved, and it is now being dissolved and merged into AERE-EGKE in order to support it in its ambitious programme of popularising the civilisation of ancient Egypt for a wide audience.
The Foundation, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary on 1 December 2024 with a formal ceremony at the Palais des Académies, continues to support research, particularly through the publication of Chronique d’Egypte, which is internationally recognised for its scientific quality. Unfortunately, the general public is not very familiar with the results of the research carried out by Belgian Egyptologists.
The programme of the Association Égyptologique Reine Élisabeth (AERE-EGKE) includes a range of conferences, courses, training sessions, themed guided tours, publications and other cultural and festive activities. This will require additional resources for the AERE which, unfortunately, are no longer available from the public authorities.
Thank you for your trust and support.
