It is with deep sadness that we announce to our members the passing of one of the AERE’s most loyal servants, Mr Luc Limme. The deceased had been a member of our board of directors since 1991; from 2012 to 2023, succeeding Herman De Meulenaere, he co-directed the association, working closely and amicably with Alain Martin.
Luc Limme was also one of the driving forces behind our periodical, the Chronique d’Égypte, for many years. As head of the Pharaonic section, he spared no effort or time to ensure that our journal maintained the high scientific standards for which it is renowned in the world of Egyptology.
